Baptisms at The Hub Church, Christ Church, Bridlington
Multiply leader Emma Miles shares the story of the first baptisms at The Hub Church, a New Worshipping Community at Christ Church, Bridlington.
“Our original vision for The Hope Hub was that people who had resigned themselves to hopelessness would find the hope of Jesus, and this is exactly what we are seeing.”-Emma Miles, Multiply Lay Pioneer
The Hub Church is the newest expression of church in the Christ Church Bridlington network and has developed from the relationships built through The Re-Store Food Pantry and The Re-Store Hope Hub.
Over the last 4 years, as relationships evolved with the people accessing the services, Emma has started to see people encounter Jesus. What started off as a simple circle of prayer time, gradually became a church gathering. Incorporating worship, a bible reflection, prayer, and the offer of monthly communion.
The people that are coming to faith and finding freedom and hope are those on the fringes of society. They are entering community, engaging in bible study, and have become part of a team that are on mission together, seeking to serve the health and the well being of our community.
In December 2024 the first baptisms at The Hub Church happened, where Emma and her team witnessed 4 people make a public declaration to follow Christ.
They are seeing an acceleration of people coming to faith, showing a commitment to engage in gatherings as well as sharing life throughout the week.
Hope has a name and his name is Jesus!
