Refresh Parent Cafe

Bramham Benefice

Jo Davies (Multiply Lay Minister) shares a little about the New Worshipping Community emerging in Bramham Benefice:

“Last summer our toddler group "The Ark" came to an end after 20 years. This was faithfully run by the Mothers union and has been a wonderful ministry . With less families coming and volunteers decreasing we felt it was time to start something new!

About a year ago one of my team gave me a book called Refresh ( see attached photo). She said it had my name on it! Having been involved in something similar in my previous church., after prayer and pondering and through gathering a team, we decided to set up a Parent cafe.

My hopes for this are that we can reach more families including those who have children at school as well as those with pre-school children.  There is a famous saying " it takes a village to raise a child" and so often it is hard to find that village. As a parent myself I know how tiring and challenging it can be and I have really benefited from being with others and sharing ideas. My hope would also be that this will be a space where we can offer tired parents a chance to pause and take a deep breath and have a cup of tea! I hope parents will feel warmly welcomed and cared for by our church community. Please pray for us as we start this new group."
